Geometry – Inspired and instigated by nature

Geometry is integral to Nature. Nature, in its myriad forms, has helped us understand and evolve geometric patterns and constructs.

We, human beings, have adopted these constructs in a variety of ways, in –

a. Designing monuments and buildings,

b. Embellishing the mega-structures as well as our living surroundings

c. Creating and sporting the attires

d. Accessorizing the looks of a human beings

d. Presenting the food in a visually pleasing manner

e. Mimicing the natures patterns even in our performing arts…..

The list is endless. Here, I try to give a form to the conceptual thought that has been lingering….

  9. Very good indeed. I like the textures in the natural shots, as it is only when you see large numbers of the same item that you appreciate the differences. However my favourite is man-made, the balconies. I like the composition and repitition.

  17. Splendid! loved your interpretation of the theme and the photography is great. I’m trying my hand at photography too. Can you suggest any resources to understand the techniques, thanks!

    November 9, 2012 at 5:26 pm

    • Thanks Aditee for your ‘sabashi’. One thing is understanding the camera technically, the other thing is able to see which is not obvious and connecting. More and more you observe others’ works and implement some of the learnings, I am sure you are bound to grow. That is what I continue to do. Yes, knowing your camera better, will add to the impact.

On FB there are many photoenthusiast groups in every city. You may wish to join and go with them for weekend phototours within the city, that they organize. Each one receives feedback, that will also improve our abilities.

      November 10, 2012 at 9:42 am

      • Hi,

Thanks for your reply! I agree with what your are saying…understanding the technicalities of the camera is one thing but see beyond what meets the eye is another. And i guess both are equally important to understand the art. I will definitely look up the photoenthusiat groups you mentioned. Thanks again.

        Happy Diwali!
